For years, that flank of Namsan has been one of the main housing areas for Westerners as the Korea Housing Corporation, a government agency, built and maintained Western-style houses there. That idea is perpetuated, but foreigners, not all of them Western, now occupy multi-story apartment buildings higher up the mountain - a location that gives them a sweeping view of the Han River and mountain ridges south of the city.
