Tea Ceremony: Freedom From Earthly Cares
Monday, August 10, 2009 - Labels: tado, tea ceremony - 1 Comments
One by one the guests wash their hands at a small stone basin in a ritual of purification before entering the sparsely decorated tea room. The guest of honor takes up position at the right hand of the hostess and then all present bows solemnly to one another while sitting in a circle on the floor. Every moment is conducted according to the strict code of etiquette.
Only the sound of boiling water, called the “soughing of the wind in the pines,” breaks the silence of the room as the hostess prepares tea by following a precise and intricate sequence of actions. The atmosphere is one of great spiritual disciplines, harmony, respect and tranquility, for this is “tado, the way of tea or Korean tea Ceremony.”

I'm imagining how it feels like to be in a Tea Party. Wanna experience this thing.
