Korea Sparkling
Korea's Flavor
Friday, September 18, 2009 - Labels: festivals, korean festivals, pansori - 1 Comments

Activities at Korean festivals revolve around a theme, usually a product or a cultural activity for which the region is famous. Ginseng, mud baths, mushrooms and Korean liquors all have a weekend set aside to celebrate their attributes. Folk performances--the noisy farmer bands, the softer sounds of pansori (traditional song), the local mask dance, and probably by shamans to ensure the community's prosperity. If at all possible, schedule a day for a festival while visiting Korea.
